This Hanna Instruments HI98121 measures pH, ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) and temperature in one floating, waterproof portable instrument.
pH tells you how acidic the water is; ORP tells you how oxidising it is; temperature affects both readings. Measuring all three together, with automatic temperature compensation, avoids misreadings in processes where the water's temperature shifts through the day.
The HI98121 calibrates automatically at two pH points and compensates for temperature without manual input. The pH electrode is replaceable (HI73127); the ORP sensor is fixed. Battery life runs about 250 hours of continuous use, and the meter auto-shuts-off after 8 minutes of non-use.
Waterproof and floating means the meter survives being dropped in the water; it does not mean the electrode should be stored dry. Keep the probe wet, in storage solution, never dry or in distilled water.
Includes pH buffer solutions (4.01 and 7.01), storage solution, ORP test solution, electrode cleaning solution, a replacement pH electrode, a removal tool, four 1.5V batteries, a quality certificate and the instruction manual.
