Hanna Instruments HI99163 portable meter for measuring pH and temperature directly in meat, with a conical-tip probe and stainless steel blade, IP67 body.
The Hanna Instruments HI99163 portable meter measures pH and temperature directly inside meat and meat products, designed for HACCP checks on the plant floor, in cold rooms or at the point of sale.
Meat pH shows how the muscle developed after slaughter and predicts its colour, texture, water-holding capacity and shelf life. Measuring it in the product itself, with automatic temperature compensation, lets you grade and decide without sending samples to the lab.
It comes with the replaceable FC2323 probe, with a built-in temperature sensor and a quick-connect DIN connector. Its conical tip with a stainless steel blade pierces meat while protecting the glass bulb; the open reference junction resists clogging from fats and proteins, and the PVDF body withstands the sanitisers common in the food industry, including chlorine.
Fat is the enemy of a good reading: clean the probe with the fat cleaning solution after each series of measurements and calibrate with fresh buffer every time.
Includes FC2323 probe with 1 m cable, pH 4.01 and 7.01 buffer sachets, two sachets of HI700630 fat cleaning solution, 100 mL beaker, three AAA batteries, rugged carrying case, meter and probe calibration certificates, and instruction manual.
