A humidity indicator that shows relative humidity, without the cobalt salts traditional indicators use as a colour, continuously and without power.
Cobalt chloride is the classic humidity indicator and is also classified as a substance of very high concern, which puts it in conflict with product and packaging regulations. The cobalt-free version does the same job without inheriting that problem.
The indicator sits inside the enclosure and changes colour with the humidity around it. There is nothing to switch on, nothing to calibrate and no reading to take on a schedule — it is simply looked at, through the window or on opening.
It reports the condition at the moment it is read. It is not a data logger and does not record what happened while nobody was watching.
The colour change is real but less dramatic than cobalt's blue-to-pink; compare against the printed reference, not against expectation.
