Hanna Instruments portable meter for pH and oxidation-reduction potential in one waterproof portable instrument, one model.
HI98190
This Hanna Instruments portable meter measures pH and oxidation-reduction potential in one waterproof portable instrument.
pH tells you how acidic the water is; ORP tells you how oxidising it is. They answer different questions and a great many processes — disinfection, plating, effluent treatment — need both at once to be interpreted at all.
An electrochemical meter is three things that fail separately: the electrode, which ages and eventually dies; the meter, which rarely goes wrong; and the calibration, which is only as recent as the last time somebody did it. Almost every bad reading traces to the first or the third.
Budget for electrodes as consumables, store them wet in storage solution rather than water, and calibrate against fresh buffers at the temperature you will measure at.
Waterproof means it survives being dropped in; it does not mean the electrode does. Store the probe wet, never dry.
Supplied as one model.
