Hanna Instruments solution for the low-range titrant for the sulfur dioxide mini titrator, one model.
HI84500-50
This Hanna Instruments calibration solution measures the low-range titrant for the sulfur dioxide mini titrator.
Free sulfur dioxide is what protects a wine from oxidation and spoilage, and it falls continuously in the barrel. Below the protective threshold the wine is at risk; above the legal limit it cannot be sold, and the window between is narrow.
A standard is only a standard while it is uncontaminated and in date. Pour what you need into a clean beaker, never dip an electrode into the bottle, and never return what you poured. Cap the bottle immediately — several of these solutions change value simply by standing open.
Write the opening date on the label. An expired or contaminated standard does not announce itself; it quietly calibrates every instrument in the laboratory to the wrong value.
Use the low range for free SO2 in finished wine; using the high-range titrant there wastes reagent and loses resolution.
Supplied as one model.
