Hanna Instruments solution for standardised 0.01 N hydrochloric acid, one model.
HI70462
This Hanna Instruments calibration solution measures standardised 0.01 N hydrochloric acid.
A titration is only as accurate as the titrant's concentration, and acid prepared in-house drifts as it absorbs and evaporates. A standardised solution removes that whole source of error, along with the work of standardising it.
A standard is only a standard while it is uncontaminated and in date. Pour what you need into a clean beaker, never dip an electrode into the bottle, and never return what you poured. Cap the bottle immediately — several of these solutions change value simply by standing open.
Write the opening date on the label. An expired or contaminated standard does not announce itself; it quietly calibrates every instrument in the laboratory to the wrong value.
Dilute acid is still acid: add it to water, never the reverse, and store it away from bases and metals.
Supplied as one model.
