The HI775 Checker® HC is a handheld colorimeter designed to measure alkalinity in freshwater simply, accurately and cost-effectively. Alkalinity, present in varying concentrations from carbonate and noncarbonate salts, buffers water against sudden pH swings and plays an important role in drinking water treatment, where its concentration determines which chemicals are dosed and in what amounts.
