Hanna Instruments Checker® HC colorimeter for iron: accurate digital readout, no more subjectivity from color-matching test kits.
The Hanna Instruments HI721 Checker® HC is a pocket-sized colorimeter that measures iron with a digital readout, instead of matching colors by eye against a chemical test kit chart.
Iron naturally occurs in water at low concentrations, where it can affect taste and stain laundry and household appliances. It is also a useful indicator of corrosion in industrial plants, cooling towers, and heating systems.
The instrument uses an adaptation of the EPA Phenanthroline method (315B) for natural and treated waters: an LED light source at 525 nm passes through the sample and a silicon photocell measures the color change, converting it into a precise ppm reading.
Supplied with two sample cuvettes with caps, an iron HR reagent starter kit (6 tests), battery, instructions, and quick start guide.
