The same vertical multistage architecture as the stainless series, in cast iron. Where the liquid does not demand stainless, this is the sensible choice: identical geometry, the same small footprint and the same pressures, for considerably less.
Cast iron performs well with clean mains water, non-aggressive well water and closed recirculation circuits. There a stainless casing buys no service life, only price.
Stainless becomes necessary when the water is treated or demineralised, when it is soft and therefore aggressive to iron, where there is food contact, or where the installation is potable water and no iron pickup is wanted. Outside those cases, iron.
The VE series runs from 4 to 11 stages — the range that covers low and mid-rise buildings, domestic and commercial constant-pressure sets, and irrigation over moderate distances. Each stage adds pressure; flow is set by the impeller, not by the stage count.
Eight configurations from 2 to 7.5 hp, with 1 1/2″ suction and 1 1/4″ discharge, single and three phase.
For greater heads or for water that attacks iron, the vertical stainless series runs to 22 stages and 30 hp.
