On demand
Barnes 1 hp jacuzzi recirculation pump, with closed impeller and 1 1/2″ suction and discharge connections.
E0941
A jacuzzi puts a demand on its pump that a pool does not: constant starts and stops, always in hot chlorinated water, and often a few metres from people talking.
A pool pump recirculates for hours at a stretch. A jacuzzi pump starts when somebody gets in and stops when they get out, several times a day. That cycle is far harder on motor starting and on the mechanical seal than continuous duty, and it is what the SE series is built to take.
Hot water also accelerates chlorine attack on the seal elastomers — another reason a seal sized for cold water fails early here.
One model at 1 hp, single phase at 110 V, with a closed impeller and 1 1/2″ suction and discharge.
The closed impeller is deliberate: it delivers pressure steadily in clean filtered water, which is always the case in a well-maintained jacuzzi. Fit a hair trap ahead of the pump — hair is a bigger problem here than in a pool, because the water volume is so much smaller.
