The same idea as the vertical multistage — impellers in series to build pressure — laid on its side. The choice between them is almost never technical: it is where it fits.
A vertical pump grows upward and takes little floor. It is the answer in a tight plant room or a constant-pressure set mounted against a wall.
A horizontal pump is lower and more accessible. It installs under a low ceiling, in a mezzanine, in a container or on a skid where there is no headroom; and maintenance is done standing rather than up a ladder. On equipment that gets opened regularly, that difference shows.
Hydraulically they deliver the same at the same stage count.
Four configurations from 3 to 6 stages, with 1″ to 1 1/2″ NPT suction and discharge, and heads reaching 76 mca.
Stainless steel throughout the wetted path, so it suits potable water, treated water, food-process lines and any soft water that would attack an iron casing.
