A cast iron jet pump driven by a gasoline engine. The combination solves one specific problem: drawing water from a deep well where there is no electrical supply, or where there is one but it cannot be relied on.
An ordinary centrifugal loses its prime as soon as air enters the suction, and cannot lift beyond about 7 metres for physical reasons. The jet solves both: it recirculates part of its own flow through an ejector, and that jet is what drags water up from below. The result is a pump that self-primes and works at depths where a centrifugal simply will not lift.
The series comes in 2 and 5 stages. Each stage adds pressure to the same water column: two stages for moderate wells, five when the lift is long, the run is far, or both. Stages raise head, not flow — if what is missing is volume rather than pressure, the answer is a larger diameter, not more stages.
The advantage is complete independence. It works on a farm, on a site, in an outage. The cost is combustion-engine maintenance — filter, oil, spark plug — and it cannot be left running unattended the way an electric unit can. For continuous duty with mains available, the electric version is cheaper to operate.
All models have 1 1/4″ NPT suction, 1″ NPT discharge and a closed impeller.
