Compact Tirrill burner for small-scale work, 152 mm overall height and 9,400 BTU output. Cylinder (LP) gas.
H5025
This is the short Tirrill burner, made for benches where the full-height version does not fit or is more burner than the work needs. At 6 in. (152 mm) overall it sits under low shelving and inside the working height of most fume hoods, and its 9,400 BTU output suits small vessels, loops and routine heating rather than fusion or ashing.
It keeps the feature that defines a Tirrill: a needle valve at the base regulating gas flow independently of the air collar. Two controls instead of one means the flame can be set small and stable, which is the point of a small-scale burner — a large burner turned down tends to be unstable rather than gentle.
Supplied for cylinder (liquid propane) gas. The orifice is sized at the factory and cannot be converted to natural gas, so confirm the bench supply before ordering.
For standardised flammability testing to ASTM D3713, use the full-height Tirrill burner instead; this compact version is a general-purpose bench burner and does not carry that designation.
