The Electrothermal Electric Bunsen replaces an open gas flame with a conical radiant heating element. That single change removes the reason most laboratories cannot use a burner at all: no gas line, no naked flame, and therefore no exclusion from rooms holding solvents or from safety cabinets where an open flame is prohibited.
The element is shaped so radiant heat is directed up into the top cavity rather than spilling sideways, which is what lets a flameless unit reach useful temperatures for inoculating loops and small vessels. A top cowl deflects heat away from the operator's hand, and air circulating through the vented housing keeps the base cool enough to pick up while the burner is running.
Power draw is modest at roughly 400 W, so the unit runs from an ordinary bench outlet without dedicated circuits.
Two supply voltages are available:
Order the voltage that matches the bench supply; these are not switchable. For applications that need the output regulated rather than simply on or off, the MC5 controller is the recommended companion and is available as a factory-paired set under a separate catalog number.
